There's No Shame in Running For the Bus

2/28/2012
Second day of school. Tuesdays are going to be tough for me. I am in class from 8:45am to 6:50pm with only about an hour break for lunch. I have 3 classes. The View From Australia (basically history and politics and other world issues), Graphic Design Studio V, and Advertising Design.
I could talk about my classes, but I don’t want to. It was all typical first day stuff. We had time to start some research on our projects in my last two classes, but my internet stopped working so I basically just sat there. Very frustrating considering that school is basically the only place I get internet (as it’s not allowed in our home stays).
What I really learned today, was that, there is no shame in running for the bus. At the end of my long day, I just wanted to get home. I was beat, spent, done-zo. A friend and I were walking toward the bus stop, and we saw the buss pull in. We were still a little less than a block away. You can never really trust the bus time-tables, you never know when the next one is coming. It could be anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.
 So we ran.
We ran, flailing our arms, yelling “WAIT! WAIT!No shame. To make this whole experience even less enjoyable, it was raining, and I was carrying my 15 lb back-pack.
But we made it. And I got home in time to sit and eat my dinner in front of my host family and roommates who had all already finished eating. That’s just what Tuesdays are going to look like for me I suppose. Running for busses and eating late. Good news though, I still got home on time to “see the fat people” as Neil would say (aka, watch The Biggest Loser, for those of you who missed last post). AND I don’t have classes on Wednesday! Hazah!
