Miss America

4/28/2012
Saturday. Today I went to Street Teams. It was actually a really good day today. Went to the regulars because it was just Diana and I.
We talked to Marcia for a while. She invited us in and we cleaned her window on he balcony. We tried to change the light bulb in the bathroom but the bulb came apart because there was some water damage. So we couldn’t really help her with that. But she said not to worry about it and she would put a request into housing.
I met Luba, who I think is from Russia. She was very nice, and she gave us chocolate! She told me I looked like I was from London. I don’t know if that is good or bad. But she said it with a nice tone so I’m going to take it as a positive. We then visited another woman named Eva from Hungry.  We helped her out with her steam mop. I had never met her before either. She was super nice. She wrote my name down so she could remember. How cute is that?! She also talked about how in the past, people have left without saying goodbye, and how she doesn’t like that. It was cool to see how that we actually do have an impact on these people and they miss us when we leave.
After that I went home and napped for too long. Then got ready for church. My Korean friends couldn’t come and I missed them. I ended up meeting up with Darren at bus stop and sat by him for the service. Bayless Conley was the speaker. He is from California and I want to look into visiting his church back in America.
The after party was fun. I didn’t talk to too many people, but met a guy from brazil named Henrique. He introduced himself as ‘Hicky’, which I guess is the nickname that comes from Henrique. But the word ‘hicky’ as way different meaning for me, so I will stick to Henrique. Anyway, he is friends with Alison (the NFL fan from Brazil). But Alison ditched him and didn’t end up coming to the after party. So Henrique and I hung out and talked for most of the time. Met some other girls, Sabrina, Alex, Nicole, and Emma. They were all Aussie except Emma who is from London.
I also talked to Kenny, and he was super nice to me tonight. He is friends with Corey, the American guy who originally told me about these after parties. We joked that Corey never comes to the after parties but he is the only reason that I started coming in the first place. Then Kenny said that I’m the only American girl that he actually likes to talk to. Other American girls he may say hello to or having passing conversation, but he actually enjoys having in depth conversation with me. That just about made my night, because Kenny is a tough nut to crack. I think we’re really on another level now. He has given me the affectionate nick name of "Miss America". Real original Kenny...
